Ready for another nightmare? Courtesy of good ole Queen's U

So I just had a little panic attack. As I have blogged about in the past, my Mom, Dad, younger sister, Nanny, Poppa and Grandma are all coming to see me graduate in November. Before they booked tickets I checked the site a hundred times to confirm the correct ceremony (10AM on Tues Nov 20) and helped everyone book train tickets, hotel accommodations and even set up a week long car rental. I was busy researching for my competitive ability paper and an email notification popped up from the company that rents out gowns and hoods saying that they were now accepting rentals. So to ensure I wouldn't forget, I quickly went to the site, filled out the information and paid the RIDICULOUS $30 fee to RENT the regalia. Phew, done and over with... but wait.

I go back to the email about the regalia to check something and it says...

To confirm the status of your graduation, see the Maintain Convocation Details link in the ‘My Academics’ section of SOLUS.

Ok...

I applied to graduate over a month ago, and just assumed everything was OK. I went to check the application online, which I found after much searching and beside status it said "applied". Now, the application window of time hasn't passed yet, not until mid-October, so I figured I was OK. Then I see this...

Do you have questions about your eligibility to graduate?
The first thing you can do is run a report in SOLUS that will tell you if all your requirements have been satisfied.  Under the “other academics” drop-down menu, select Academic Requirements and >> (Go).

So I go onto SOLUS, and run this report they suggest and it gives me THIS (the photo is included just for dramatic purposes):

Excuse me?...Not satisfied?? I don't see how this is possible? I quickly refer to the Registrar's site and it says to contact your department. So downstairs I head to the Graduate Assistant and tell her. She looks through files, and gives me the copy of a letter she had received in the summer, and I myself also received in the mail a few months ago. It clearly states I have completed all degree requirements and that I was recommended to the University Senate to receive my degree. She assured me it must be some strange glitch in the system and gave me an e-mail address for a woman who could either fix what it was telling me, or tell me that it didn't matter either way what it says. I sent her an email just now, so I am really hoping she fixes it. Even if she says it doesn't matter that it says that there, going to my ceremony with that there will be nerve wrecking.... especially given the track record of Queen's and it's bright, bright employees!

Maybe not the nightmare story you were hoping for, but to each their own I suppose!

Oh oh, I posted this 5 minutes ago and just got an email back

Hi Amanda,

There is nothing for you to worry about.

Cheers!

Let's see if I graduate or not in November!
