We have a weekly seminar in the department called EEB which stands for Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour. It is every Thursday at 12:30. It is the most well attended seminar in the department (even more so than the departmental seminar....try wrapping your head around that one). It is almost just assumed and expected that everyone who studies EEB should go. I haven't been this year (except for once), so I figured today would be the day. And I did go. There's free cookies there so why not. The presentation however was not up my ally. It was about random x inactivation. I thought it was cool for sure, but I missed a few things along the way and ended up confused by the end
After that talk was the final job talk. All of this sitting and listening resulted in sore butt and sore brain by the end of it. I like hearing talks, but I am glad that I didn't have to sit through another one. My brain is mush now. I have been semi-productive this afternoon, as this morning was pretty much a write-off. I made it to the gym, but that resulted in me not getting to the lab until after 10:30. I did manage to go through some papers this afternoon and work on my competitive ability search so that was one thing I did right.

Last week was a super productive week and this one hasn't been thus far. Those pesky 4 day weeks sneak up on you and it's hard to recover from having more than 2 days off in a row. I am however VERY excited that tomorrow is Friday. Probably more excited than you can imagine. I neeeed to sleep and for some reason I sleep better on the weekends. Even though I really had no where I HAD to be today, and didn't set an alarm anticipating I would have trouble sleeping, I still couldn't sleep. I think I did probably get about 4.5 hours of sleep on and off but still, it sucks. I am hoping Saturday will be better; I'll be heading to KHS that day so I am VERY excited for that. Sunday, I will end up trying to finish my field work with my lab volunteer. Naturally, it calls for 80% chance of rain all day on Sunday, so it may be a soggy and cold first field work experience for her...but is there really any better way?
If Meanie likes crocs then they must be cool!!!
