A great way to end the summer

KHS volunteer's beautiful and friendly dog
All my loot from the auctions
Today marks the official LAST day before it's back to what I consider real life. The days of baking in the sun all day everyday are officially OVER. And yet, it couldn't have ended on a better note. Today was the 14th Annual Big Paws at the Point event at Lemoine Point in Kingston. This was also the first Humane Society Event that I have volunteered at (the first of MANY I plan on working at). I worked at the registration desk for the first few hours before the official walk began and I am happy I did -- I got to see all of the cute dogs up close before they disappeared into the crowds. It seemed like a decent turnout which was great! I had a cute dog cupcake from the by donation only booth run by Starbucks, a great BBQ lunch, and bid (and won!) some great items from the live auction and silent auction. You can see, I swagged more than enough swiffer stuff to last several years (thanks Proctor and Gamble!) and a 25$ giftcard to the Toucan. Lots of shelter dogs were out and about and enjoyed a great day out of the shelter and in the sun! I don't know the official total yet, but it seems like the event was a success! I can't wait for the next one.
12 week old puppy available for adoption at KHS,
 she's SO amazing!
